[MoM] [OOC] Death Permissions!
So! Being the demigod son of the Greek god of the dead, Nico has a certain ~connection~ to dead people. If your character is any of the below:
1) Dead/died in canon but alive here
2) Is undead/Underworld-aligned or otherwise life-impaired in MoM now
3) Has died in MoM
4) Is canonly going to die in the near future
... please comment here to let me know know if a) Nico can sense that from them and b) what (if anything) he can see about the cause of their death (appears to him in the form of black splotches on the spots where the mortal wounds occur). This is
Also! In canon Nico can command the dead as well, though that typically only applies for mooks and other unnamed NPCs. If your character is/was dead and you want them to feel compelled to obey Nico, go for it! Otherwise I'll assume that that particular trick doesn't apply to your character.
Both of these effects are COMPLETELY opt-in. He will only notice/command dead people who have responded to this post (or if it comes up and I message ahead of time to confirm it's okay). Otherwise, we'll blame conflicting mythologies on the reason why he can't see anything.
Here's a nifty form:
Can sense death: Y/N
Visible cause of death: Description here, or N/A if you don't want him to see anything! He can know someone's dead without seeing their wounds.
Command level: N/A if you don't want any kind of influence, or describe how much you want Nico to be able to affect your character! Anything from "this kid seems extra nice for some reason" to "kill all the Japanese" kind of geas is okay by me.

2) She's a necromancer with an inborn affinity for Death- she'll probably ping his radar and vice-versa.
3) Nope
4) Kinda? She sort of dies fighting Kerrigor, but is pulled back into life because she's not allowed to die until someone can take her place. I'd rather she didn't find out about this yet.

Visible cause of death: She actually has a visible scar still on the left side of her throat! So handy tbh. So any marks/signs would be there for him to see. She's had two attempts in the same place, so if you want him to see two marks that would be fine with me. :)
Command level: N/A

1. yeup sense away!

Visible cause of death: George here has just died in a grisly bus accident at his canon point (hit by said bus, and dragged a block), so while he no longer has any physical marks, feel free to have notice what would amount to full-body external and internal crush injuries.
Command level: N/A

2 - Hub died of a congenital heart defect, so no "real" external markings to see; we'll go with that big splotch over the heart. Also idk if he'd be able to tell that Megaman's current body isn't his original one, but if he can then feel free.
3 - Passing on the influence.

Visible cause of death: Okay, so if you ask Church there are more than a few things Nico should see re: deaths. He should see Caboose shooting him with a tank, his stomach bomb going off, getting shot in the head a few times, aaaaand when the emp went off.
In reality it's just the last one. Just that. Nothing else counts no matter what. Don't let him get away with it. So I'd say maybe a fuzziness? MAN IDK I ALREADY HIT YOU ON PLURK A LITTLE but i have no idea what an emp would show up as
Command level: Prooooobably little to none, if just because Alpha's that gray area of what actually constitutes as "dying" as opposed to being deleted.

Would Nico be able to see any of that?

Visible cause of death: Okay here goes the Homestuck horseshit - Dave has died and probably pings as having died, but it works in canon more like having an extra video game life rather than straight up resurrection so while the current Dave technically isn't the exact same guy he has all the memories of his previous life. He also has some deaths in alternate timelines, but it's probably way easier to just deal with this one. The deaths this version experienced/remembers are being shot a lot and then being exploded in a universe destroying bomb before going God Tier so the "mortal wounds" thing is probably kind of...non specific...

Can sense death: Y FEEL FREE
Visible cause of death: Bullet wounds, heart and forehead.
Command level: This would be super entertaining to me, so I'm gonna say heck yes let's go for it.
no subject
Visible cause of death: Safe to assume he'd see black splotches sorta fuzzily overlapping with the puncture scars on her neck.
Command level: N/A

Visible cause of death: The cause of death was gored and gutted by another imPort. The imPort is called Juuzou Suzuya and he killed Ken with a scythe; he cut him up in several parts and gored him out. IN FACT, the outcome is posted over the network for everyone to see and it's here
Command level: N/A

Visible cause of death: Dean has died multiple times in canon, once mauled to death by a Hell Hound, once shot in the chest, and then there was a string of multiple deaths where he was stuck in a time loop and died in a different way each day for 100 days or so. That last one he doesn't remember anything of and I'm not sure how/if that would show. He's been killed once in MoM. His head was cut open and his brain liquified? So. Yay.
Command level: N/A for now
no subject
Visible cause of death: The first time was someone stopping her heart, so there'd probably be a mark there. The second was being stabbed through the chest, so a fainter mark nearby??
Command level: N/A

and for hal jordan (
Can sense death: y
Visible cause of death: OKAY this is very comic booky but he died reigniting the sun......... his body was left there for years perfectly preserved so technically there isn't any wounds. also there's the reboot which actually still directly ties along with his storylines so i've been given the mod okay to canon update to there if i want to in the future so this is relevant and he will again die in the future to take command over death with a black lantern ring. his death that time was getting sucked into the afterlife where he is half dead and then he jumps off a cliff there to make it actually happen. he will get better from that as well because ~*~comics~*~
Command level: preferably not
no subject
Sensing it is fine. Visibly whatever a heart shot looks like.
Command level: let's say about the same level of his hypnosis power? Whatever you'll like that to be? (Even if none is your answer.)
no subject
Visible cause of death: This one is a bit tricky and I suppose up to you how you want to interpret it? Alduin was very much dragon-shaped when he was defeated, and would probably have visible black splotches all over. (Epic boss fight and all.) But in MoM he's in human form, so I don't know if those would transfer over.
Command level: By default, I'm going to say N/A -- but when it comes to plotting, etc. I'll always be more flexible, so feel free to hit me up if you ever have anything specific in mind.
no subject
can see death: yessss
visible cause of death: he's died in canon and ingame PLENTY of times. like, he's 'died' probably around fifty times or something ridiculous like that. and he's died in ten billion ways (burned alive, tossed off a bridge, poison, got his heart ripped out, drowned, crashed his car, electrocuted, he actually died via toaster in the bathtub once, YOU GET THE PICTURE.) so basically, Nico will see Dorian like COVERED IN BLACK SPLOTCHES.
edited to add that also, it's been ages since I read PJO/HOO so I don't know if this applies, but Dorian canonically doesn't have a soul. if Nico can spot that, then feel free to point it out, otherwise it'll just be added to the laundry list of things that are weird about Dorian here
command level: make him do whatever, Dorian has no morals so have at it.
no subject
Visible cause of death: Multiple stab wounds to the stomach/abdomen area before bleeding out. She's also done a lot of things that would have gotten her killed if she weren't already undead, but I don't know if he can sense those.
Command level: n/a for right now, but I'm open to it for future plotting at a later date.
Also! Hazel had briefly run into the last Nico and knows he's a necromancer/can tell she's dead, so she'll probably be pretty skittish around him. Sorry bro.

LOTS OF SPOILERS that are a few years old now ahah
My guys are in a weird situation... In their mindscape there are three of them - Akito, Agito, and Lind. Lind has all the memories and abilities of Gazelle, their body's mother...
Gazelle was like in her first trimester of pregnancy when she shot herself in the head in the Arctic ocean to save her loved ones/be the ultimate 'fuck you' to her asshole enemies!
Theeeen the scientist who made her took her frozen corpse, revived the dead embryo, and implanted her 'heart' (mind/soul/etc) into it. Buuut it didn't work properly because the child's body was weak or something, splitting Gazelle into 'Akito' and ' Lind'. Then Agito woke up years later in their mind and he'd either be another Gazelle fragment or the actual child's personality who knows
ANYWAY their body was dead for a few days, albeit frozen, prior to birth. It would have been from asphyxiation I believe... While their 'soul'/'mind' or whatever died from a gunshot wound to the side of the head (exit wound on the right hand side over the ear).
Idk how it'd work with your guy's powers though :|a

Visible cause of death: Hayley is a Vampire/Werewolf Hybrid (usually just called hybrid). So in order for that to happen she was born a werewolf, then died with vampire blood in her system, then drank some blood to solidify her transition. This would show up as a cut across her throat, as her throat was slit to kill her. There's no physical scar, so just blots to show it.
Command level: Prefer a no on this, but if you ever have plotting thoughts/ideas I'm always game to listen!

Visible cause of death: There are ~mysteriously no wounds since Minato is inexplicably dead from sacrificing himself to be a soul door. idk. Atlus is allergic to explanations. Oh and as you already know, there was the whole "Minato had Death sealed in him for 10 years" thing, which I've been having other sensing characters feel from him.
Command level: Um go wild with this if you want. It's a little moot because Minato nearly always fulfills requests from others anyway. xD I'm not even sure Minato would notice the difference unless he asked him to do something really heinous.

His cause of death was gunshot wounds. >: Not fun times. He was hit with two .50 caliber bullets at like... 2 yards range, it's stupid. One entry wound is on his stomach, towards the right side, with a matching exit wound on his back, and then another entrance wound on his upper back, without an exit wound.
YOU CAN FULL ON GEAS HIM i don't care, I trust you bro.

Visible cause of death: Her heart was crushed by chains that were placed inside her body, so it wouldn't be visible. But he's welcome to sense something up with her heart or something. :|a
Command level: "this kid seems extra nice for some reason" level of influence should be fine
no subject
Visible cause of death: He was killed in battle and bled to death on the floor. His injuries were a result of magic and sword - imagine his black splotches are mostly around the torso, with a large mass of black around his throat and in his hair. IDK how you'd interpret magical wounds so feel free to get creative. Actual canon detail is in his app.
Command level: N/A unless it's to get him to calm down or something.
no subject
Can sense death: Yep. Please sense his death.
Visible cause of death: He was turned to a vampire shortly after a siren nearly ate his heart out. Then, he committed suicide watching the sun rise, and died in Dorian's arms.
Command level: I'm more than willing to discuss and roll with just about anything, but there are some stipulations to his siring NPCs in MoM, coupled with Sabriel having cast a charter magic binding spell that should prevent him from attacking/affecting natives. For the most part, you've got free reign.

Visible cause of death: Kon was kind of beaten to death in canon by someone called Superboy Prime, so there would be marks all over from the sheer amount of damage dealt to him. His death was something he eventually came back from.
Command level: N/A

Death sensing: Grey died in canon, and is pulled from just after that point. Nico is welcome to sense this, yes!
Visible cause of death: He was healed by the Porter, but still has a scar over his heart from the knife that killed him. The scar is visible to everyone, but Nico is welcome to see shadows/black splotches/whatever you like around that point. Also, the knife that killed him was stabbed through his hand, and then yanked up to stab through his heart. He still has the scar on his hand too, so Nico is welcome to see splotches around that as well if you like.
Command level: Grey is canonly inclined towards obedience, so yes, I think it would make sense for him to be sensitive to Nico's command. In theory, any command is okay, including the command to kill - that is what he does in canon anyway. However, please talk to me before using this power! I would want to know what exactly he might have to do so that I could properly consider the consequences. Thank you!

Visible cause of death: He died in his canon by being thrown out of a spaceship and losing air! So I guess a safe bet would be that Shepard looks like he might have asphyxiated, it's up to you if he'd be able to deduce that it was from being in a vacuum and not just typical strangulation/drowning/etc.
Command level: I'd prefer any actual commands to be hashed out if the opportunity comes up for it! I'm not against it, but I'd like to work it out on a case to case basis.
no subject
Visible cause of death: So Kanaya technically falls under all four of your categories, it's a hell of a thing. Her first death was a magic blast shot through her belly, and she has a scar from it she usually keeps hidden, but he'll see the splotches all the same. She's been undead ever since she got back up from that one, a vampire specifically, even if a weird alien version of a vampire. Her second death-mark would be around her neck, as she died once in-game by beheading. And then her imminent death might depend on what the near future means. Basically, in canon she has a year left to live before being vaporized by some serious eyebeams. I don't even know how that would be visually represented, since she'd just be ashes scattered on the wind.
Command level: I'm all the way down for this! I'd prefer plotting any instance of it that happens, but that's as simple as shooting me a PM if we're on a thread and you get the impulse.

Visible cause of death: Two spots! A small wound on his left side, just under the arm. And ... probably all of his back.
Command level: 110% Enjoy that! He wont.
